Paul Nelson Masters

Asheville - Paul Nelson Masters, 79, died Sunday August 22, 2004 at Aston Park Health Care Center after a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He retired from Hajoca Co. after 23 years of service and attended Edgewood Baptist Church. He was a son of the late Esra and Eva Spivey Masters and was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Alphous, Francis and George Masters and 1 sister, Margaret Russell. Surivinvg are his wife of 51 years, Ruth Cochran Masters; daughters, Debra Stone and husband David and Betty Sexton and husband Vernon both of Asheville; son, Ralph Wiggins and wife Clara of East Stone Gap, VA., sister, June Ritter of Asheville; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Charles Shelton, Alf Miller and Enoch Ball, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
