Pearl Jones Ward

Arden - Pearl Jones Ward, 96, of 25 Laurel Park Drive, died Tuesday September 24, 2002 at St. Josephs Hospital after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Allie Jones and wife of the late Homer Ward. Surviving are her daughter, Geneva Hart and husband, Bill of Asheville; son, James L. Ward and wife, Betty of Arden; sister-in-law, Gussie Jones of Leicester; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Bill Gillespie and Randy Melton officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
