Pearl "Mammaw" Stevens

Asheville – Pearl “Mammaw” Garland Stevens, 98, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at The Laurels of Green Tree Ridge. A native of Mitchell County, she resided in Buncombe County for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Wiley Garland and Hester Angel Garland. She was also preceded in death by her husband Albert H. Stevens who passed away on April 14, 1965; daughters: Geraldine Amy Huffman and Shirley Ann Hensley; and by 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Mrs. Stevens is survived by her son, Albert H. Stevens, Jr. and wife Nancy of Asheville; daughters: Nancy Stevens Breedlove of Marshall, Carolyn Breedlove of Asheville, and Yvonne “Penny” Church of Asheville; 92 grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren; and by many nieces, nephews and extended family. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Friday, December 18, 2020, at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Hearts with Hands, P.O.
