Peggy Ann Sharp

Peggy Ann Sayles Sharp, 84, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 15, 2015. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, Mrs. Sharp was a daughter of the late Zebulon and Eckford Williams Sayles. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Hollis Sayles, Graham Sayles, William Sayles, and Bobby Sayles; sisters: Colleen S. Meadows, Charlotte S. Ledford, June S. Hugg, Doris S. McMahan, and Mary Jo S. Hermon. She was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church, and retired from Square D after 21 years of service. Surviving are her husband of 62 years, McKinley Mac Sharp, Jr.; son, Darryal Sharp of Holiday, FL; daughter-in-law, Lori Sharp of Holiday, FL; grandchildren: Jeremy Daniel Sharp, and Michelle Lee Sharp; brothers: Aubrey Sayles of Leicester, and Perry Sayles of Granite Falls; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, July 19, 2015, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 till 9 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Monday, July 20, 2015, at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Black Mountain.
