Pender Williams

Asheville - Pender Williams 79, of 245 Cedar Hill Road died Tuesday December 5, 2006 at Memorial Mission Hospital after an extended illness. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a U. S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a son of the late Robert and Dovie Davis Williams and was also preceded in death by a son, Pender Williams, JR. Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Williams of the home; sons, Bobby Williams, Gary Williams and wife Barbara, Dave Williams and Joe Williams and wife Angie all of Asheville; daughter, Patricia Weiss and husband Richard of Monterey, CA; sister, Shirley Jean Norris of Waynesville; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Glynn Bachelor officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Erwin High School Army JROTC. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
