In Loving Memory of Peter Garaventa

Peter Garaventa was born on February 7, 1954, and passed away on February 11, 2026, in a tragic accident. In his 72 years, he built a life centered around love, family, and a deep appreciation for the simple blessings each day brings.

He was born to William Michael Garaventa and Elwanda Louise Vance. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Dalton Garaventa. He is survived by his sister, Norma Jean Maynard, and Carolyn Hudgins, and late brother in law Howard Hudgins who will forever cherish the memories they shared.

Peter found peace and happiness in nature. He loved hiking scenic trails, fishing in quiet waters, and spending time outdoors. He was an avid reader who valued learning and reflection. Whether through books or conversations, Peter valued knowledge and meaningful connection.

Above all, Peter was a devoted father, stepfather, grandfather, and partner. He is survived by his son, Joseph Garaventa; his stepdaughter, Kendera King; and his stepson, Ethan Champion. He was proud of each of them and the lives they are building. His greatest joy came from his cherished grandchildren: Serenity Houpe, Astrid Laws, and Memphis King, who brought light and laughter into his life. He is also survived by his loving fiancée, Sandy Champion, who shared his life with companionship, love, and unwavering support. Their time together was filled with meaningful moments and plans for the future.

Above all, Peter cherished his family. He loved spending time together, sharing meals, laughter, and everyday moments that became lifelong memories. Some of the best times were the simplest ones—gathered around food, telling stories, and enjoying each other’s company. His warmth, presence, and love for his family will always be remembered.

Peter leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and will carry his memory in their hearts forever. His life reminds us to slow down, appreciate nature, value learning, and hold our loved ones close.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
