Randy Parker, a devoted family man and respected maintenance supervisor, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026, in Miami, Florida. Born on September 13, 1962, in Asheville, North Carolina, Randy spent much of his life deeply connected to the Asheville community before moving to Miami in later years. Though he cherished his time by the coast, Randy always held a special longing to return to the serene mountains of Western North Carolina that he called home.
Randy was a graduate of Erwin High School, Class of 1981, and he dedicated over three decades of his professional life to working as a maintenance supervisor for various property management companies in the Asheville area. His commitment to his work was matched only by his enthusiasm for the simple pleasures in life. A passionate aficionado of 70’s and 80’s rock music, Randy also had a keen interest in meteorology, often delighting in tracking the weather's many moods. His love for sports was evident in his unwavering support for the Green Bay Packers and the University of North Carolina Tar Heels basketball team.
Above all, Randy was most proud of his daughter, Felicia. His family was the center of his world, and his legacy lives on through those he loved deeply. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Karen Barnete Parker; his daughter, Felicia Parker; his sister, Linda Mathis; and his brothers, Stevie Parker and Michael Parker. He was cherished by many nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll Grady Parker and Helen Capps Parker; his sister, Ruby Parker; and his brother, David Parker. Their memory is carried with affection by all who knew him.
A service to celebrate Randy's life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in the Chapel of Anders Rice & Roper Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Clark officiating. His family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
