Ray Snyder

Asheville - William Ray Snyder, 88, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at Stonecreek Health and Rehabilitation. A native of Haywood County, he had lived most of his life in Asheville. He was a member of Cross Key Church and was a U.S. Army veteran during WWII. Mr. Snyder was a son of the late Milburn Ray and Jessie Gertrude Seay Snyder. Surviving are wife, Dorothea Anna Lebo Snyder of the home; daughter, Ann-Luise Read of Fayetteville; step children, Steve Wilson, Lynn Reed (Bill) and Brian Wilson all of Asheville; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Frances Rhinehart and Patsy Nations (Earl) and brother, Max Snyder (Theatta). Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Pastor Judith Manka and Rev. Michael Nations officiating. Burial will follow in Gashes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
