Richard Kirk "Rick" Swayngim

Asheville - Richard Kirk Rick Swayngim, 35, of 11 Rhodes Cemetery Drive died Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at Mission St. Joseph Health System following a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a 1986 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School, a member of Emma Baptist Church and was employed with Volvo Construction Equipment. He was the son of Jackie Swayngim, Jr. of St. Petersburg, FL and Hilda Jean Messer Swayngim of Asheville. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Ingrid G. Swayngim; son, Brandon Kirk Swayngim; daughter, Sheena Ingrid Swayngim all of the home; brother, Brian Swayngim and wife Selena of Fuquay-Varina. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Sorrells officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 PM Friday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
