Asheville Robert Bob Baker, 77, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Madison County, he had resided in Buncombe County most of his life. He was a son of the late Grover Chris Baker and Myrtice Marie Fortner Baker. Bob was a 1960 graduate of Walnut High School and was a salesman for Rainbow Colonial Bakery and Krispy Kreme for many years before retiring. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Lee West Baker of the home; daughters: Donna Baker Trimnal and husband Tim of Candler, and Priscilla Baker Hendrix and husband Jason of Leicester; grandsons: Tanner Hendrix, Tommy Allen Master, Jr., and Christopher Dale Masters; great-grandchildren: Paislee G. Masters, and Jacob Messina; special friend, Daylon Hooper; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Jones, George Reeves and Malcolm Reeves officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 till 8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: Tanner Hendrix, Jason Hendrix, Chris Masters, Tommy Masters, Jr., Tommy Masters, Sr., Tim Trimnal, and Louis Caldwell. The Baker family would like to express a heartfelt Thank You to the doctors and staff of the 4th and 5th floors of the Heart Tower at Mission Hospital.
