Robert Louis Metcalf
February 18, 1939 — July 12, 2024
Robert Louis Metcalf, 85, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 12, 2024, at the Macon Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin.
A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Lark Jahu Metcalf and Nina Annette Abernathy Metcalf. He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters: Edith Metcalf, Bonnie Reese, and Robbie Banks; and 5 Brothers: Tommy, Paul, Larry, Edward, and Charles Metcalf.
Surviving are his sisters: Ruby Arrington and Carolyn Mease; brother, Benny Metcalf and wife Doris; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Pastor Ty Allen officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 till 3 PM prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
