Roy "Cloudy" Coleman

Asheville Roy Lee Coleman, 79, of 30 Cherokee Road passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at his home. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County. Mr. Coleman retired from WWNC Radio where he served as weatherman and was affectionately known as Cloudy Coleman. He was a son of the late Robert Coleman, Sr. and Dessie Pope Coleman. Surviving are his wife, Mazel Allene Seay Coleman withwhom he was married for 58 years, of the home; children: Joyce Roberts, Shirley Parham, Buck Coleman, Linda Plowe, Tom Coleman, Carolyn Maltry and Bruce Coleman; sister, Geraldine Cannon; brother, Arnold Coleman; and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6 to 8:30 P.M. Saturday at his residence. No services are planned at this time.
