Ruby Lorraine Walkup

Asheville - Ruby Lorraine Walkup, 87, of 213 Richmond Hill Drive died Friday August 26, 2005 at the Western North Carolina Baptist Home. A native of Carbon PA, she had lived in Phoenix, AZ for several years and in Buncombe County for the past 6 years. she graduated in 1941 from Womens Hospital of PA as a registered nurse. She was a daughter of the late John Wilson McFarland and Violet Lillian Kuehner McFarland and was the oldest of 7 children. She was the wife of Edwin Sublett, Sr. and the late Lemlyn Lawrence Walkup. Surviving are her son, Edwin E. Sublett, Jr. of Lake Forest, IL; daughter, Anica L. Keiser of Asheville; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Sunday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell McClaren officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
