Ruby M. Benson

Candler - Ruby M. Rector Benson, 88, of 95 Holcombe Cove Road, died Thursday September 25, 2003 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Madison County. She lived all of her life in Buncombe County. She was a daughter of the late Dexter and Deffie Price Rector. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jackson Benson; son, Kenneth Joe Benson; a brother and 3 sisters. Surviving are her daughters, Jo Anne King and husband, Furman of Leicester, Linda Head and husband, Paul of Canton and Pasty Buckner of Candler; sister, Bonnie Stepp of Aquone, NC; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Bobby Benson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
