Ruby P. Ehresman

Horse Shoe - Ruby Alice Penland Ehresman, 79, of Brannon Road passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at the Elizabeth House. A native of Buncombe County. She had resided in Suffield, CT for 34 years prior to residing in Henderson County since 1984 and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Mrs. Ehresman was a daughter of the late John Lester Penland, Sr. and Alberta Rose Crook Penland and wife of Oliver Lawrence Ehresman who died October 31, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John Lester Penland, Jr. and Robert Owen Penland and sister, Margaret Sperry. Surviving are her sisters, Betty Pressley of Horse Shoe and Gail Natella of Hendersonville; brother, Clay Penland of Horse Shoe. Funeral services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Mills River Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 P.M.
