Ruth Elizabeth King

Asheville - Ruth Elizabeth King, 76, of 45 Shelby Rd. died Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County she attended The Chapel. Mrs. King was the daughter of the late Oscar and Katherine Smith Calhoun. She was also preceded in death by a son, Johnny Swann. Surviving are her daughters, Frances Cooke and husband Mike of Charlotte, and Diane King of Asheville; sons, Randy King and wife Bobbie of Leicester, David King of Fairview, Gary King and Robert King both of Asheville; sister, Martha Ingle of Jacksonville, FL; brother, Norman Calhoun; 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday in the Anders-Rice Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert E. Harris officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
