Samuel Frederick "Fred" Embler

Swannanoa - Samuel Fred Embler, 50, of 1 Hillside Circle, died Tuesday October 2, 2001 unexpectedly in Charleston, SC. He was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County and was a former employee of Mountain View Restaurant. He was the son of the late Sam and Dolores McIntyre Embler. Surviving are his wife, Karen Banks Embler of the home; sons, Jody Embler and Jeremy Embler both of the home; sisters, Dawn Boone of Asheville, Sandra Davenport of Morganton and Pam Lanius of Nashville, TN; brother, Joel Embler of Weaverville; mother-in-law, Myrtle Banks of Asheville; 7 nieces and nephews and one great niece. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Rockwell officiating. Burial will be at Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
