Scott Carter

Columbus Everette Scott Carter, 76, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2012 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he worked with Harleysville Insurance Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Carter was a son of the late Ralph Edison and Lola Hayes Carter. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Sue Rutherford Carter; son, Brad Carter; daughter, Lesley Roach and husband Doug; granddaughters, Sarah Roach and Caroline Roach; sister, Maxine Banks and brother, Bill Carter and wife, Margaret. Funeral services and burial will be held 2 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Daryl Overton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:30 PM Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: American Cancer Society, P.O.
