Silas Pender Blankenship

Asheville - Silas Pender Blankenship, 55, of 373 Haywood Road, died Wednesday November 21, 2001 at his home after a period of declining health. A native and life long resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Frank Patterson and Eloise Luna Quinn Blankenship. Surviving are his sons, Paul Patterson Blankenship of Candler and Mark Pender Blankenship of Asheville; daughter, Stacy Diana Gassaway of Candler; sisters, Marie Lloyd of Durham, Bertha Carter of Greer, S.C. and Kay Ewart of Asheville ; brothers, Howard Blankenship and David Blankenship both of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Robert E. Harris officiating. The family will receive friends following services at the funeral home.
