Sue Gillespie

Asheville – Eva Sue Gillespie, 71, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Gillespie had resided in Georgia for 25 years before returning to Asheville in 2020. She worked as a cloth inspector in the textile industry and cleaned several houses as a side business. Mrs. Gillespie was the daughter of the late Willie and Della Johnson Littrell, and the wife o f the late Rev. Jack Gillespie. She was also preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. Surviving are her sons: Ricky Jones, Randy Jones, Rodney Jones, and Daniel Wyatt; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Per Mrs. Gillespie’s request, no services are planned at this time. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting Mrs. Gillespie’s family with arrangements.
