Thomas Edward Jones

Thomas Edward Jones, 73, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 at the Laurels of Green Tree Ridge. A native and lifelong resident of Asheville, he was a son of the late Elbert Lee Jones and Vera Blanch Bailey Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ann Rogers Jones; and a son, Tommy Anthony Jones. Mr. Jones retired from BellSouth in 2002 after 35 years of service. Surviving are his children: Melanie Caroline Jones of Asheville, Court Allen Jones and his wife Samantha of Goldsboro, Charles Edward Jones of Asheville, and Alison Rebecca Jones of Asheville; brothers: James Jones of Asheville, Cornelius Hollifield and his wife Bernice of Austin, TX, and David Eugene Hollifield and his wife Mary of Asheville; sister, Juanita Hughes of Asheville; grandchildren: Ketie Memory Jones, Patty Ann Jones, Robyn Leigh Huffman, Sara Danielle Huffman, Damon Knight Jones, Frank Jones, Rylee Jones, Jack Jones, Evee Jones, and Kurt Jones; great-grandchildren: Anyah Mae Cooper, and Journey Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday for 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home.
