Tilda Meadows

Asheville - Tilda Janice Meadows, 76, of 8 Hark Ridge Road, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2009. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Arthur and Lily Kate Wyatt Wallen. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Charlie, Grady, and Willard Wallen. Surviving are her husband, Dennis Bid Meadows of the home; daughter: Helen Meadows Dielmann and husband Henry of Weaverville; sons: Arthur Lee Meadows and wife Deborah and James Glenn Meadows and wife Wanda, all of Weaverville; three sisters: Ella Buckner of Weaverville, Lula Kimbrell and Nettie Wallen, both of Ft. Mill, SC; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great, great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday at Union Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ted Cogburn and Rev. David Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Thursday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home.
