Tom Chauncey

Asheville – Thomas Smith “Tom” Chauncey, 63, of 3 Grapevine Lane, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at his residence. A native of Fairfax, VA, he had resided in Asheville since 2002 and was a Self-Employed Automobile Mechanic, Tow Truck Driver, and overall a Handyman. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed helping others with second chances. He was a son of the late John Kenneth Aitcheson, Jr. and Barbara Anne Pettey Aitcheson and was also preceded in death by his biological father, Morgan Smith Chauncey, Jr.; brother, Robert Lewis “Bobby” Chauncey and former wife, Cecelia Kay Smith Chauncey Matthews. Surviving are his daughters, Jennifer Rivera and husband, Vincent of Asheville and Krystal Chauncey of Fletcher; grandchildren, Daniel, Adam, Savanna, Isabel, Thomas, Naomi and Octavia; brother, James Edward Chauncey of Alexandria, VA; step sister, Tipper Gore of Alexandria, VA; and nieces, Taylor and Courtney Chauncey. A celebration of life will be held, starting at 3 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at his residence.
