Viola Anderson

Asheville - Viola Mae Gentry Anderson, 83, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday June 17, 2009. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she attended Mt. Sheba Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Colbert and Magnolia Massey Gentry and the wife of the late Rev. Everette Anderson. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Anderson and 2 sons, Gary Anderson and Philip Anderson. She was a very strong Christian lady who loved the Lord and gospel music. Surviving are her daughter, Linda Livengood of Arden; sons, Rick Anderson and wife Sandy of Asheville and Randy Anderson of Asheville; sister, Ruth Hicks and husband Wayne of Asheville; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Rhinehart and Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller officiating. Burial will be in Green Hills Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
