Virginia "Mom" Soesbee

Asheville - Virginia Alma Burrell Mom Soesbee, 98, died Saturday December 15, 2007 at her home after a brief illness. A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late James M. and Hester Rice Burrell and the wife of the late James Carroll Soesbee. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry C. Soesbee. Surviving are her son, J. R. Bob Soesbee of Candler; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with the Revs. Ralph Sexton, Jr. and Jerry Young officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
