Walter F. Tipton

Asheville Walter Fletcher Tipton, 72, of 651 Riverview Church Road passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Buncombe County, the son of the late Leonard Tipton and Clara Phillips and served in the US Army. Surviving are his wife, Thelma Moore Tipton of the home; children, Walter F. Tipton, Jr., Tricia Smith, Debra Ledford and Billy Ray Tipton; sister, Edith Haney and 5 grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2 P.M. Monday at the Moore Family Cemetery with the Rev. Garry Rogers officiating. Anders-Rice Funeral Home is assisting the family.
