William "Bill" Engle

William “Bill” Engle, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 24, 2022.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served during the Korean War with the Strategic Air Command. He was a member of Bent Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents William McKinley Engle and Dovie Laughter Engle; sisters: Elizabeth Engle, Doris Boggs, and Barbara Anne McClain; brother, Hoover Engle; and stepson, Michael Silver.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Earline Silver Engle; son, Phillip Engle (Teresa) of Woodfin; daughter, Lisa Carper of WV; grandchildren: Kristen, Callie, and Whitney; three great-grandchildren; step-sons: Ronnie Silver (Gracie), and Terry Silver of Asheville; step-grandchildren: Heidi, Heather, Heath, Andy, Katie, Megan, and Molly; and ten step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 1, 2022, in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Sam Smith officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 PM at the Mountain Home Baptist Church Cemetery, 21 Little Creek Rd, Hendersonville. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Air Force.

The family will receive friends from 10 – 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home.
