William Thomas "Tom" James

Candler - William Thomas Tom James, 65, of 150 Canaan Drive died Sunday June 9, 2002 at Mountain Area Hospice. A native of Buncombe County he had lived in Maryland for 30 years before moving back to Candler in 1995. He had retired from IBM as a computer analyst, was an avid gardener and wood carver, enjoyed training the family dog Lady and was an alumni of N.C. State University. He was a son of the late William Thomas and Mae Bennett James and was also preceded in death by a sister, Nancy James. Surviving are his wife, Patsy Moore James of the home; daughter, Beth McRorie and husband, Devin of Charlotte; sons, Bill James and wife, Jeanette of Augusta, GA and Bob James and wife, Barbara of Candler; grandchildren, Thomas, Pieter, Chelsea and Brent James; sister, Katherine Estridge of Candler. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Rev. Dean Huggins officiating. Memorials may be made to: Mountain Area Hospice. P.O.
