Wilma Allen

Wilma Allen, 90, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Emerald Ridge Rehab and Care Center. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Harley Boone Hampton and Gay Brown Hampton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Allen; brother, Truman Hampton; granddaughter, Kristy Freshour; and great-grandson, Joshua Freshour. She was a member of Buckeye Baptist Church. Surviving are her children: Linda Conard (Earl) of Candler, Barbara Allen of Old Fort, and Michael Allen (Dawn) of Greer, SC; sister, Valerie Lewis (Troy) of Swannanoa; brother, Wayne Hampton (Sandia) of Panama City Beach, FL; grandchildren: Kenneth McElrath (Donna), Kimberly Young (Mark), Katrina Ricketts (Mark), Robert Conard (Dawn), Raegan Rice (Jason), Devin Allen, and Mckenna Allen; 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandsons. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015, in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Thurman officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for 1 hour prior to services on Wednesday.
