Wilma Buckner

Leicester - Wilma Brewer Buckner, 60, of 377 Dix Creek Road #1, died Monday December 31, 2001 at St. Josephs Hospital. A native of Transylvania County she had lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was retired from Erwin Middle School as a substitute teacher and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late Justin A. and Bell Wells Brewer. Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Jack Buckner, Sr. of the home; sons, Jack Buckner, Jr. and wife, Vickey and Johnny Buckner and wife, Debbie all of Leicester; grandchildren, Tabatha Buckner and Christopher Kent; sister, Jerri Holt of Asheville; brother, Willis Brewer of Asheville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Ricky Townsend officiating. Burial will be in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of Johnny Buckner, Red Bud Lane, Leicester.
