Wilma Gentry

Asheville – Wilma Jean Spain Gentry, 80, of 21 Homewood Drive, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 2, 2022 Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation Center. A native of Buncombe County, Mrs. Gentry retired in 2004 following 12 years of service with the Dutch Girl Laundry Mat and formerly was employed as a Line Inspector with Coca-Cola Bottling Company. She was a daughter of the late James Edward Spain and Juanita Irene McHone Spain. She was also preceded in death by her former husband, Wilburn Houston Gentry; son, Randall Gentry; sister, Joyce Ann Jackson and brother, Don Thomas Spain. Surviving are her children, Donald Gentry and wife, Wilma of Asheville and Vickie McFee and husband, Tim of Fletcher; grandchildren, Jennifer Reno, Scotty Gentry, Charlie Gentry, Tiffany McFee, Tommy McFee, Michael Shane Gentry, Cynthia McDonald, Elizabeth Wright and Nina McMahan; sister, Sandra Hodgdon of Hayesville, and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, July 8, 2022 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home, with Tim Warren officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following services at the funeral home.
