Zelma Fisher

Asheville - Zelma Fay Fortner Fisher, 81, died Tuesday February 1, 2011 at her home. A native of Madison County, she lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was a daughter of the late Jeter and Elizabeth Treadway Fortner and was also preceded in death by step son, Carroll Fisher. Surviving are her daughter Janice Rakickas (Ron) of Foxfield CO; son, Jackie Lee Fisher of Black Mountain; sister, Perlie Mae Miller of Asheville; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. John T. Tiller officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
